1. Re: Text Orientation defaults to Vertical! XXX
John Joslin Jun 1, 2009 2:40 PM (in response to doane2u)You could try resetting the text tool from the drop-down menu in the character palette.
(You aren't using the Vertical Type tool are you?)

Gyno-jiz Jun 1, 2009 2:40 PM (in response to doane2u)Change the text tool back to the horizontal text tool in the tools panel. Click down on the type tool and the flyout menu should show, where you can select the proper tool. Or hit shift-t three times.

doane2u Jun 1, 2009 4:06 PM (in response to Gyno-jiz)I had tried the fly out menu but it wouldn't stick.. the next text layer I would add I had to change it back to horz each time.
Hitting Shft + T three times changed the orientation but also created a text mask.. Interesting, I didn't know about that.
Hitting Shft + T two times changed orientation and it has now stayed in the horzontal. Thanks so much for all your inputs and help and so fast.
Thanks everyone!

doane2u Jun 1, 2009 4:19 PM (in response to doane2u)That's weird.. that only happened one time, the hitting shft + t 3x and getting the layer mask.. now it just jumps back and forth between vert and horz.
Really not sure what happened, but my text was a standard font, many different ones i tried and that I often use, and they would default to vert each time. I tried resetting the tool presets, resetting the character in the character tab flyout menu and nothing worked till I used the shft + t 2x.
