1. I am a flash animator that uses nested graphic symbols, and I have no idea what you are talking about.
2. I have had no problems with tweening in CS4 at all. I actually prefer the new tweening methods to the old, but even when doing a classic tween, I simply right-click/classic tween. I have not yet lost any settings. -

Do this: take a symbol with some animation inside it, create a couple of keyframes on a timeline, and set their properties to different frame settings: set one keyframe to 'single frame', another one to 'play once', and another one to 'loop', with different frame numbers. Now tween all the keyframes - tell me what happened.
