1. Re: Embedded graphic in deleted text in a tracked change (CS4)
Kenneth Benson Jun 4, 2009 11:30 AM (in response to Kenneth Benson)So this is really just that weird? After reading help a little, I think it has something to do with InCopy, something about which I know nothing.

Kenneth Benson Jun 5, 2009 6:04 AM (in response to Kenneth Benson)Sorry to keep bumping this, but I'm amazed no one else has run into it yet.
Should be fairly easy to test: Open Word, put some text in, turn on Track Changes, add a picture, delete the picture, save the file, Place in IDCS4 with "Track Changes for InCopy" turned on. You should get the embedded picture listed in Links with no way to get rid of it.
If someone can describe to me how to take this through InCopy (do I have InCopy?) maybe I can get rid of it that way.
It's gotten worse: I thought I'd be smart and unembed it and delete the linked file. Now I'm constantly reminded that it's [not] there when I open the file.

3. Re: Embedded graphic in deleted text in a tracked change (CS4)
BobLevine Jun 5, 2009 6:09 AM (in response to Kenneth Benson)Sounds a bit buggy, why leave track changes enabled if you're not going to be using InCopy?

4. Re: Embedded graphic in deleted text in a tracked change (CS4)
Kenneth Benson Jun 5, 2009 9:12 AM (in response to BobLevine)Only because I never bothered to turn it off in Place > Options. In fact I never noticed it there until I went poking around last night. Or is there another place I could turn off track changes?
So I'm stuck with it? I tried saving to .inx, I even pasted all the text into a new file. Neither one got rid of it.
