Separate CS4 sequences in same project to Encore

    janaiott

I have a project in Premiere that I go to create the DVD menu in Encore by clicking in the Adobe Dynamic link, then open in Encore.  It takes the sequence I was in to Encore, no problem.  But I have another sequence in the same project I would like to bring in the same Encore project, but can't seem to figure out how to get it to the same project without it asking me for a new Encore project name.  I can't even find the root sequence in the Premiere files, just lists it as the project, as far as I can find, so I can't even import it as an asset.  I know there's a way to do this.  Just can't find it.  Help, please!

There was a recent discussion on doing this. Joe Bowden and Jeff Bellune offered tips on doing it, and going from my memory, one just does the selection of the desired Sequences to bring in all of the ones that are needed.

I have to admit that I do not use DL that much, so I did not make full notes of the discussion - might have missed something along the way, just reading. As the title of that article did not mention the "separate Sequences," I'll try to search for it. Should I find it, I'll post a link to it.

          Good luck,

[Edit] I think that this is the discussion.

Just go to Dynamic Link off the "File" drop-down, and import the relevant sequences.

It will definitely help no end if you create names for the Premiere sequences too, rather than "Sequence 01" "Sequence 02" etc which is going to cause huge problems for you if are importing from different Premiere Projects, where every neq sequence is "sequence 01" by default unless you name it.

The dynamic link function is one of the coolest things there is about the Adobe suites. It is excellent.

I have since used this feature a lot.  In the "file", dynamic link, import adobe premiere sequence you just have to make sure you have the right location and premiere project clicked on the left screen, then on the right screen your available sequences will show up.  You may have to expand some of your folders if you have placed your sequence in a subfolder.
