Bill Hunt Jun 29, 2009 8:43 AM (in response to MadaLeppa)First thing that I'd do is use the Eyedropper to check the color of the "white box," and also the background's color in that area.
You might also want to explore Garbage Mattes for doing the removal of "garbage," like the tripod leg.
Good luck,
Hunt

shooternz Jun 29, 2009 1:51 PM (in response to MadaLeppa)Definitely use a Garbage matte for this fix.

4. Re: White: not so white after export...
MadaLeppa Jun 30, 2009 12:44 AM (in response to MadaLeppa)Thanks for the suggestions. Using Garbage matte to mask away the tripod will give the same result as putting a white box on top of the picture, i tried that. I still have to make that white base underneath the masked layer.
I think it has to do with the export. The white box as well as the underlaying layer (when masking) end up gray compared to my video background which is white.
Maby is has something to do with the background in the video beeing over exposed and therefore not 'considered' white by premiere?
Also, have in mind that this problem occurred after upgrading to CS4 .

5. Re: White: not so white after export...
shooternz Jun 30, 2009 12:56 AM (in response to MadaLeppa)Try this technique with your garbage matte.
Duplicate the clip with the light stand issue and place the duplicate on the layer above.
Apply a Garbage matte to the top layer around the "issue".
The clip on the layer below: Move it using Motion so that there is a section of clean white cyc bg showing thru the Garbage matte.

Ann Bens Jun 30, 2009 2:39 AM (in response to shooternz)I sometimes find the Garbage Matte not working all that great, in some cased it shows lines. Unfortunately you cannot feather a Garbage Matte.
But you can feather the white box you made in the titler by adding a Fast Blur and using the mask as a Track Matte.
