I have a presentation that I created for a client. The presentation is supposed to work locally on anyone's computer. It works perfect on mine. On the client's three computers, 2 pc and 1 mac the links inside flash do not work. I have a text field with text and a simple link inside like http://yahoo.com and it's going to a blank window. These won't even pop up a window for my client on any computer, why?
He has the lastest Flash players and we created an html link below the flash movie in the html page just to make sure he could launch a popup that way and the html link below the flash movie worked fine.
they probably have security issues (and can't access the internet from their local sandbox) while you've enabled your security settings to allow your local sandbox to access the internet zone.
to test have them go to: http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.htm l
and navigate to the folder that contains their swf and add to the trusted files. retest.
when that works, you'll know you need to create an air application or direct everyone that uses your projector to deal with the security issue.
As always, you're correct. I had forgotten that's what I'd done after my last reformat of my computer. They can't use Air because it's a state project and the cd would have to be installed by the IT guys and they don't really want that.
Thanks again!
