1. Re: Mac Pro, Creative Suites and extra hard drive query
Steve Werner Jul 3, 2009 7:06 PM (in response to KarenSC)I've never found a need for a scratch disk. The only application I know which uses one is Photoshop. Why don't you ask in the Photoshop forums.

KarenSC Jul 4, 2009 8:12 PM (in response to Steve Werner)Thank you Steve - however I use the scratch disc in both Illustrator and Photoshop and Premiere, hence it becomes a more general question.
In moving to a Mac I am trying to understand whether the drives work differently, or can you partition the main drive on a Mac and use those partitions for scratch discs?

Steve Werner Jul 5, 2009 6:44 AM (in response to KarenSC)Yes, I'm sure you could partition your hard drive and use that for a scratch disk. You can use Disk Utility (located in your Applications > Utilities folder) to do that.
