1. Re: Sound Effects & Scores - are they Free?
_durin_ Jul 13, 2009 3:21 PM (in response to franontheedge)Hi Fran,
The Royalty-Free Sound Effects and Scores are just that - you are free to download and use them in any project you like. You cannot redistribute them to others, although if they are part of a project file, for example a multitrack ASND document you created in Soundbooth, this is okay. You do not need to pay any royalties or additional fees to use them in your projects, though. That is included in the purchase price of the software.
Scores are dynamic music or atmospheric beds that will automatically re-order their component pieces to match your selected time. They're like royalty-free music, except that instead of being limited to whatever length they were recorded at, you can stretch them and the different verses or choruses will shuffle to maintain the compositional intent of the author, without any weird cutoffs or out of place changes. Soundbooth includes a few at installation, and we offer around 50 more for free download via Resource Central. In addition, you can preview and order additional bundles of songs through there.
These scores are also royalty-free and you can include them in any project you wish. Again, you can't redistribute the Scores files themselves or the component parts, but as part of your project, they are completely free of any further restrictions. For more detailed information on the legal side of these, there is a link at the bottom of the Resource Central panel to the EULA.

2. Re: Sound Effects & Scores - are they Free?
franontheedge Jul 14, 2009 2:06 PM (in response to _durin_)Thank you, that's very helpful and just what I wanted to know.
I'm at university and sounds and music have been my biggest problem when making my animations. This sounds like it may help a lot. It's a pity I didn't know about it before.
Fran
