DVD Export always returns jerky Video.

    Sicundercover247

This problem is consistent across Encore, Premiere, and Adobe Media Encoder (Im using CS4). If I try to export to MPEG2 or even MPEG2 DVD i get this odd jerky playback. Its not just the DVD it even happens if I make an image or even if I just make a m2v.

Ive tried every setting I can think of and have even tested other forms of video encodes but it only seems to be MPEG2 that is effected. Any ideas?

First, work through all of the steps here http://ppro.wikia.com/wiki/Troubleshooting

If your problem isn't fixed, report back with the DETAILS asked for in the questions at the end of that link

I got the same reply to check

            99% of which is useless

So check that the video off your camera  upper field first or lower field first is consistent with what ever your using to create your edited m2v.

They must be the same ie; your camer records with upper/lower field first and you render with  same.

Unfortunately, if one does not provide any details, whatsoever, the users are hard pressed to offer any real "cures." That is why John posted his last line, about returning with the details.

As the problem could be Field Reversal, your suggests might help. However, if the OP has, say a Matrox card (we just do not know), the the Field Dominance might need to be reversed from what would otherwise be normal.

              With complete details on:

              1.) System

              2.) Assets

              3.) Project

someone can offer suggestions that might apply and solve the issue. Without them, we are all just guessing.

              Good luck to all,

Sorry it took me so long to get back, had alot to do and made sure i went completely over that check list.

Took me a while to figure out the real problem, it was actually a pretty obvious problem and i cant believe i didnt see it earlier. The source file was 25fps and i was exporting it to a NTSC 29.97fps format. Apparently Adobe Media Encoder only duplicates frames to make it 29.97fps from 25fps. I did find that After Effects is able to do blends with the 3:2 pulldown however it kept failing halfway through.

After extensive testing I found that Adobe does not offer a product that effectivly converts PAL to NTSC so instead Im left to attempt AVISynth or go buy DVFilm Atlantis to do the job.

I use the Deskshare product, DigitalMedia Converter, and love it. IIRC, it's US$50.

Ive tried both of those and they both copy frames. I realise Its never going to be perfect but I tried a buddies ProCoder 3 and that seems to work the best. TY for all the help.
