J McWilliams Jul 24, 2009 4:17 PM (in response to Another Photographer)You're allowed to run two copies of LR, but not simultaneously. Therefor, just enter your user number in the other login account.
Also, I recommend you update to v 2.4, as it has a lot of fixes over 2.0.

Another Photographer Jul 24, 2009 4:53 PM (in response to J McWilliams)I am already using the latest version. I don't want to waste the license number in that way because I have two computers.

Hal P Anderson Jul 24, 2009 6:35 PM (in response to Another Photographer)Adobe doesn't actually keep track of the number of times you enter your serial number for Lightroom. It's an honour system, unlike the one that Photoshop employs. Since you're running under a different account on the the same computer, I can't see a moral problem with entering the number there and again on a second computer. And there's nothing technically to stop you.

4. Re: License problem
Another Photographer Jul 24, 2009 7:05 PM (in response to Hal P Anderson)I wonder if this is a Windows 7 problem. Has anyone else encountered this? I suppose I could enter the # every time I create a new account...but that could get old after a while.

J McWilliams Jul 24, 2009 10:24 PM (in response to Another Photographer)How many accounts do you anticipate using? If you are entering the serial number but it doesn't stick, try deleting the Preferences file.

6. Re: License problem
Another Photographer Jul 25, 2009 4:10 AM (in response to J McWilliams)Which preference file? I didn't think they would store that information where it's easily accessible. I have one account for myself, one for my wife, then there's the Administrator account, and yesterday I created a Guest account. Out of these 4 accounts, only wife's account can access LR because I happened to be logged into that account when I entered the license number.

Ian Lyons Jul 25, 2009 6:36 AM (in response to Another Photographer)Information on where the Lightroom preference file can be found is given at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/358041?tstart=0
I don't know enough about Windows 7 account setup and installation procedures to give any advise on the best approach. However, there is no reason why you can't just enter the serial number for each of the accounts.

Another Photographer Jul 27, 2009 1:11 PM (in response to Ian Lyons)Is it possible that no one else has reported this problem? I did a google search and did not find any other reports.

9. Re: License problem
J McWilliams Jul 27, 2009 3:56 PM (in response to Another Photographer)Could you restate the problem? I guess it's not clear to me what you've done and what remains to be done.

10. Re: License problem
Pete Marshall Jul 27, 2009 4:05 PM (in response to Another Photographer)If you have multiple accounts on one computer and wish to use one copy of LR for any user of that computer you need to install the software as administrator for the use for all users. If you install as one individual user LR will request a valid licence number from each user.
the same problem in respect of MACs was recently discussed at length here http://forums.adobe.com/thread/467967?tstart=0/
