1. Re: Copying/Importing Identity Plate Info Between Catalogs
Pete Marshall Jul 25, 2009 4:46 PM (in response to MikeV99)If you ID plate is an image file then just go to id plate setup, select locate file, locate the file and load it.If it text then you will have to recreate it...unless any one knows better?

2. Re: Copying/Importing Identity Plate Info Between Catalogs
MikeV99 Jul 25, 2009 5:17 PM (in response to Pete Marshall)I am just going to the identity plate editor and editing the text info and then doing a save as. When I open up a new catalog the save as identity plate is not available. Maybe I need to see if I can create an image file.
Are there any identity plate image files that I can download?

Pete Marshall Jul 26, 2009 2:15 AM (in response to MikeV99)I could sell you mine!!
I think the point of an ID plate is that it is personal to you, so perhaps you should just create one. LR will work with any image format. The sizes for ID plates are specified by ADOBE so that it will display correctly in LR itself, you can actually use much larger ID plates if the main purpose of them is for web gallery use and many of the web galleries work best with image files much larger than LR's, in which case only part of the image will display in LR.
If you want a text style ID plate that is transferable between catalogs then you will need to create this as an image file rather than using LR to create it and then using "save as". In this case the "save as" in LR is just saving a name for the particular settings you have created it is not saving an actual file.

4. Re: Copying/Importing Identity Plate Info Between Catalogs
MikeV99 Jul 26, 2009 6:01 AM (in response to Pete Marshall)Thank you for the response. I create a separate catalog that is stored in the root folder of a group of images. I wanted to customize the identity plate in each catalog. It appears that no easy way exists since I will need to edit the image/text identity plate every time I create a new catalog. I had hoped that I could just load the text file and quickly edit it. Doing the same with an image file could take a bit more work. Looks like I am stuck with creating a new text identity file every time.
Regards,
Mike
