Digital Editions crashed when I quit it.

When I shutdown DE 1.7, I get a Vista popup that says "Adobe Digital Editions has stopped working...". Every time.

Event viewer says "Faulting application digitaleditions.exe, version 9.0.1079.27, time stamp 0x49777cf8, faulting module rapistub.dll_unloaded, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x465eef68, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x6f144e00, process id 0x1c04, application start time 0x01c9a45bcf1c4388."

I think Rapistub is related to my Windows Mobile software. Is WM6 crashing ADE, or vice versa?

Yep, it's happening to me as well, exactly the same behaviour.

Anyone found an answer to this yet, or a fix?

Sorry Adobe but your app is off my PC until it's fixed.

Same problem................

Vista Home Premium 32bit

Come-on Adobe, please fix this annoyance.

Better yet, make it so I can handle DRM doc's from Reader or Acrobat just like the thousands of other pdf doccuments I read. The last think I need is yet another flakey application.

Yes, me too.  I agree with the above posters. I have Vista 32 as well.. same error when closing the app. I don't recall it happening the first time, but it happens every time now if that is any help.  I would really prefer XP but the OS came with the laptop and I had no choice, or lose drivers and software when reformatting.  I hope this error with ADE is something that is being looked into.  I just spent $94 USD on a text book for school that I discover now thanks to DRM - I don't even own and have no rights to.  I can only print ten pages out at a time as well as being locked into the PC, etc. I understand the need to protect work, but this is ridiculous. I should own the book I just spent a weeks worth of grocery money on.  Then I fear the app. is going to make the book unaccessible now.  Please patch this Adobe. I can't spend hundreds all over again to re-take the class and re-buy the book. Ouch!  .. end of whining.. but seriously.. $&@!

I have uninstalled the app. cleared cookies, temp, cache and java temp files and anything else I could clear, scanned for errors using CCleaner in case there was some active X error or something off lurking about the registry.  I reinstalled the app and still have the same problem.  I have Vista service pack 2, and all other recent windows updates.  Java version is 1.6.0_14-b08.  I do not have any other applications running, no firewall except Windows, my virus scanner is Avast and is set for manual scans only. I use Spybot S&D and sometimes Lavasoft if anything suspicious scans, but those don't auto run.  Acrobat reader is version 8 I believe, I disabled it from looking up updates as I have a slower and capped internet connection. If there's any information that might help please ask.

I just noticed the original poster posted in March 2009, that's a long time to not have a patch.  Maybe the next edition will have a fix.
