I've renamed my RoboHelp 8 Project file name, as well as the TOC and Index names.
However, there are several output files containing the old project name. Is there a place within
RoboHelp where you edit the Project file name so that all output files will reflect the same name?
I renamed the Project name using File - Rename Project....

Hi there
What output files are you concerned with? I think RoboHelp 8 will not rename the source files for the TOC, Index, Glossary. But those don't appear in your output files as such. So it likely won't have any effect on your output or ability to deal with the files.
Cheers... Rick

I need to check them into source control, and my name was in the initial test file - so it would
be preferable to rename all files, which brings me to another question - which files
are vital for working? Maybe I do not need to check in ALL source files...
thank you for your feedback!

I don't work with source control but all the posts here seem to say you do not check output files into source control. You can always check out the source files and recreate the output.
For files not to check in, see Snippet 116 on my site.

The "what not to include" helps - thank you! I am wondering specifically
what does need to be checked in - within the main Help directory that
RoboHelp generates, there are several files (.xpj, .ali, .brs) and many
more. Then there are the !Language!, !SkinSubFolder!, directories, and
an additional Help directory with the project name on it within this main
directory.
I am wondering which of all of those files should likely go into Source
Control (I am not using RoboHelp source control) but another source control
tool. I'm wondering if everything should go in except the
(deployment) files?

Maybe this question would be better in the Source Control forum?

All files at the root of your project (except for those mentioned at Peter's site) must be added to source control.
All folders with "!" as a prefix and suffix (such as !SSL!) are not added.
Folders that have a "_files" suffix are normally folders that contain images that accompany an imported file. These should be added.
Good luck,
Leon
