Thanks.

Can you give us some more detail? What style changes are being made and tags are being removed?

Appended the file .css (original helpG6.css) and amended by Robohelp (helpG6_2.css). All files of a project are created from a template associated with the first file (css original), as we work with htmls file .css is changed (helpG6_2.css).

Hi,

When did your css change?

RoboHelp will change your CSS when you edit it from the build-in css editor and RoboHelp changes your css when you generate your output.

Use an external editor for editing your stylesheet (Notepad++ is a good editor).

Greet,

Willam

LATEST

Didn't we look at this CSS once already, somewhere else?

The major issue I see is this: "#menu ul li a:link {"

  • Since you have no other DIV class in the style sheet, what is the purpose of the "#menu" DIV class? Seems unnecessary.
  • If you have any list items in a UL inside a #menu but without an anchor (<a href>), what style shall RH use (there's nothing for "#menu ul li {")?

My recommendations:

  • Eliminate the "#menu" DIV class.
  • Establish separate list and list element classes (ex: "ol {" and "ol li {"), and then use the list toolbar buttons to implement them in the topics.
  • Establish separate "a" classes (ex: "a.myhref:link {"), totally apart from the list styles.
  • Eliminate the "h1,h2,h3,h4,h5" settings; keep each one separate and distinct.

These style settings might be OK if you were creating your own web site that would only be interpreted by HTML and CSS protocol on web browsers. On the contrary, you're asking RH to:

  • Prepare any of a half-dozen single-source layouts.
  • Prepare online help that will consistently display on multiple browsers, and provide a frame with TOC, Index, and Glossary navigation capability.
  • Prepare on-the-fly Preview windows (with or without conditional tags).

You must, therefore, not only allow RH to adjust things accordingly, but also adapt your working practices to accomodate that environment.

Good luck,
Leon
