1. Re: EVERYONE - START YOUR DISCUSSION WITH YOUR VERSION!!
Bill Hunt Aug 22, 2009 2:50 PM (in response to fuaho)Good comments, and they should be a sticky at the top of each sub-forum page. The suggestion is included in some Forum-oriented articles, but is still lost on too many posters. As this is the Premiere Pro forum, Pr 6.5 should go in the Premiere sub-forum, but the same version # identification should be used. The same applies to the Encore and to the Premiere Elements forum.
I did an article for the latter, to help posters, especially new posters get an idea of what will help others to quickly help them. Unfortunately, too many post with out thinking, and few every look at the forum FAQ's, and Tips sections - even if someone links to them, in an attempt to help.
Thanks,
Hunt

JSS1138 Aug 22, 2009 5:22 PM (in response to Bill Hunt)Personally, I think starting every header with the software version would make it more difficult to read. At the end would be better.

3. Re: EVERYONE - START YOUR DISCUSSION WITH YOUR VERSION!!
Bill Hunt Aug 22, 2009 5:27 PM (in response to JSS1138)Why so Jim? For me "[CS4] Problem with Capture from Sanyo XXX-yy," is not that difficult. I see little difference with "Problem with Capture from Sanyo XXX-yy [CS4]." Maybe I am missing something obvious here. For me, the former makes the point a bit better than the latter.

4. Re: EVERYONE - START YOUR DISCUSSION WITH YOUR VERSION!!
JSS1138 Aug 22, 2009 5:29 PM (in response to Bill Hunt)I feel the question is more imporatant than the software used. So get to that first, and then list the software.
I'd be just as happy if it came in the body of the post.

Bill Hunt Aug 22, 2009 5:32 PM (in response to JSS1138)Sorry, I just don't buy it. Maybe it's like our disagreements on how people learn?
From a pure design point, I like the version # first.

Gary Agoura Aug 22, 2009 6:31 PM (in response to fuaho)Shouldn't you started with: [CS4] EVERYONE - START YOUR DISCUSSION WITH YOUR VERSION? *
* Assuming you are running CS4!

8. Re: EVERYONE - START YOUR DISCUSSION WITH YOUR VERSION!!
Stan Jones Aug 22, 2009 7:04 PM (in response to fuaho)Just remember that those of us who read via email are already seeing:
[Premiere Pro] Re: EVERYONE - START YOUR DISCUSSION WITH YOUR VERSION!!
(Notice that Jive still defies all email etiquette by placing the "re" after the [Forum heading], thereby making it impossible to sort email by thread. I see: [Premiere Pro] EVERYONE - START YOUR DISCUSSION WITH YOUR VERSION!! in one email group and the "Re" in all others. Of course they did stop labeling every post with a tag that made every post its own unique group. Second to the ridiculous inability to search within the forum you are in, I find that frustrating.
Oh, wait, its third, I forgot about the even more ridiculous slow speed, largely caused by the weight of dozens of bits of code working their unnecessary magic, and not only slowing it down, but constantly putting me back in the forum page when I had already switched back to email.
Yes, label posts with the version, but I don't really care where it is: subject line anywhere or early in the body of the post.
