Recording Mode settings won't save

Having a problem with setting my Recording Mode in Cap 4.

Basically, I want to record an Assessment in Automatic recording, which I have set in both the small window and under preferences.

However, if I go back into Preferences after OK'ing - it has reverted to Demonstration mode.

When I Record, I get Mouse movement (when this should be turned off), Click Boxes (which I want), but doesn't input Text Entry Boxes (which I want).

Any ideas?!? Never had this problem before...

Hi there

Methinks you may be misunderstanding how the Preferences work.

In Preferences, you configure the options for each mode. For example, Demonstration mode normally tracks Mouse Movement, adds Highlight Boxes where you click and Text Captions. Perhaps you want all of it but the Mouse Movement. So in Preferences, you say Demonstration mode will not have Mouse Movement.

When you begin the recording process, you then choose which mode you will use.

  • Demonstration
  • Assessment Simulation
  • Training Simulation
  • Custom

Then you record and you should see what was configured for the selected mode of recording.

Make sense?

Cheers... Rick
