bob.treitman Jan 22, 2009 11:21 AM (in response to afole4)Some questions and things to try. Sorry that I can't be more specific, as we're perplexed as to what might've changed that would only affect one of your computers.
- Did you install any new software between the last time Buzzword
worked and when it stopped working?
- Are you running any security software
e.g., Norton Internet Security?
- Try clearing your cookies
- Try these three URLs: https://www.buzzword.com,
https://buzzword.acrobat.com, https://www.acrobat.com -- Do any of
these work?
- From https://www.acrobat.com, sign in to Buzzword -- does that
work?
- From https://www.acrobat.com, sign in to Share. If Share loads,
try moving to Buzzword by clicking on the New icon. -- Does that
work?
- Could you try uninstalling and reinstalling your Flash Player?
- Did you install any new software between the last time Buzzword
worked and when it stopped working?

4. Re: Buzzword no longer showing up
afole4 Jan 22, 2009 12:46 PM (in response to bob.treitman)None of those things fixed it - I uninstalled the Flash Player, reinstalled, and even reinstalled again.
None of the alternate urls work nor does going in from Sahre (which otherwise works fins as do the other acrobat.com apps)
I dumped cache and cookies.
Here's something I noticed: I cannot change the Flash Player settings from the non-functioning Buzzword window, but I can from Share or Files. If I right click, the settings option comes up but it's not clickable - I can't even close it. The Settings popup does work in Share b/c I changed the settings to see if that might trigger Buzzword to work... -
5. Re: Buzzword no longer showing up
bob.treitman Jan 22, 2009 2:35 PM (in response to afole4)I'm checking with my colleagues to see if any of them have other suggestions for troubleshooting this situation. It's really quite perplexing, given that Buzzword was working up until recently on this machine and that it still works on your MacBook with a similar setup. -

7. Re: Buzzword no longer showing up
acropete Jan 24, 2009 11:48 PM (in response to afole4)Hello alphyBoy, and afole4,
One other suggestion I wanted to put out there, incase it hasn't been tried yet, is if you are having the Black Screen issue before you try anything else, delete the global Flash "settings.sol" file usually found here:
C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\sys
This solved some user's problems immediately where other solutions did not.
After deleting the file first go directly to
http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/
which will test your Flash Player and verify your version. More importantly, it will build a new, generic settings.sol.
Give this a try, and let us know how it goes!
Thanks!

bob.treitman Jan 26, 2009 7:58 AM (in response to acropete)Following up on acropete's suggestion...
Find any Buzzword.swf folders and rename them (e.g., to BuzzwordOld.swf). For Windows, you'll have to enable the search to include hidden and system files.
Then try loading Buzzword. -

Nickname_here Sep 3, 2009 11:10 AM (in response to afole4)I'm having the same issues.
I posted a while ago about it, but I can't find my original post now.
I've done all the above suggestions.
I also loaded some Firefox flash debugger that was suggested in the other thread...
Still no luck.
I would like to try out this product...

p.s. Here's a link to the old thread: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=712&threadid=1432331&fo rumid=76.
It doesn't work but maybe that will help somone else.

p_watson Sep 3, 2009 8:44 PM (in response to Nickname_here)Hi,
Please try the following steps to resolve the blank screen issue:
1. Go to this link where you can manage your global flash player settings:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_man ager03.html
2. Make sure the "Allow third-party Flash content to store data on your computer" option is checked.
3. Make sure the slider is set to a value other than 0
4. Navigate away from the settings page (or close the browser window) to apply the changes.5. Run Buzzword and let us know if this was the problem - thanks.

12. Re: Buzzword no longer showing up
Nickname_here Sep 4, 2009 8:49 AM (in response to p_watson)Ok, tried that.
Still get a blank screen in Firefox.
The address is now: https://buzzword.acrobat.com/#n=true (I think it ended with "=o" before.)
In Safari:
I click the "New" button and nothing happens. It doesn't go anywhere and the blank screen doesn't show up.
I can use the Upload, Share, and Crreate PDF screens normally.
Also on both Safari and Firefox when I try to start an Online Meeting I get a blank screen.
In Camino: (I know it's an unsupportted browser.)
Buzzword: I get the non supported browser error, blank screen when I continue.
Meet: blank screen
In Opera: (I know it's an unsupportted browser.)
Buzzword: I get the non supported browser error, blank screen when I continue.
Meet: blank screen

13. Re: Buzzword no longer showing up
p_watson Sep 4, 2009 12:37 PM (in response to Nickname_here)Hmm - Can you please take screenshots of the blank screen in Firefox and of the global settings screens so I can see if there is another setting that might be causing the issue - thanks
Also you mentioned that in Safari you could click "New" - does that mean you can login and view the document organizer of Buzzword but you just can't create a new document? please send a screenshot of this failure as well

15. Re: Buzzword no longer showing up
p_watson Sep 4, 2009 1:13 PM (in response to Nickname_here)Ok - you have to check the "Allow 3rd Party..." checkbox to get things working
Please let us know if that does the trick

Thank you for your help.
I'll be trying it out now.
Have a good weekend.
