Type 1 Fonts cause pdf generation to fail?

    Bill Vojtech Community Member

I'm using a program called Printshop Mail. I've found that when I try to make a PDF, (or print), it fails if I'm using type 1 fonts. The only kind of font that it seems to like is True Type.

I was told to get a font converter so I can make all the fonts into True Type format. I searched and found 2: FontXChange and TransType Pro. TransType SE is a lite version.

There were no reviews of FontXChange and 2 bad and 1 good review for TransType. The most recent review was from 2006.

Can anyonr reccomend a font conversion utility?

I think you would do better asking in the Typography forum. However, it is possible that we can find the problem that is causing a crash. It should not be the fonts. I do know that some programs do not handle postscript fonts, but they just don't handle them. They don't cause crashes. Try to use the Save AS PDF button within the Mac OS Print dialog box. Does it cause a crash? What if you use the Save As Postscript file option? Does it still crash?
