imagex ideas Sep 12, 2009 11:44 AM (in response to Ian Lyons)Ian - That's a clever and useful idea, but it has a problem.
First, the Smart Collection has to have a second match test to limit it to a catalog folder or recent import date. My catalog has many photos that will stay there for all time with no development adjustment. This addition is no problem.
But if I choose the No Adjustment smart collection as the basis for my next Development session, the instant I apply the first adjustment to a photo that photo drops out of the collection and is unavailable for further adjustments (unless I go back to it as part of another folder or collection). I tried to come up with another way of constructing the collection criteria which would prevent this, for example by using a test on Edit Date, but failed. I could do it if the collection criteria permitted mixing "ands" and "ors", but it does not. Any ideas?

Ian Lyons Sep 12, 2009 12:11 PM (in response to imagex ideas)You could try using the Smart Collection to filter by adjustment and Library Metadata filter ( hit \ key to make visible at top of Grid) to filter by date.

I set the Smart Collection to gather any photo with either "Has Adjustment is false" or "Edit Date is today". The second test keeps photos under adjustment from dropping out after the first adjustment. Then used the Library Metadata filter by date to restrict to recent photos.
Thanks.

JimGoshorn Sep 13, 2009 7:43 AM (in response to imagex ideas)The way I keep track of this is to assign a red label to all images as they are imported and have a smart collection set up to look for red labeled images. Once I am satisfied that processing is complete I set the label to none for the image(s).
