    Keys for accented characters

    Peter Villevoye CommunityMVP

Although the elegant Special Character panel is very comfortably sitting

there on my screen, waiting for work, helping me out whenever necessary,

I still prefer to be able to continue to type accented characters the way I'm

used to, since 1987 on my Mac...

It's distracting and disturbs my 'flow' of thinking and typing when I have to

look for the character, click it, verify that all is okay and continue typing.

You think you've got problems? OK, so perhaps it was a bit much to expect unicode character entry Linux-style: but when my whole system is set up to work with a Belgian azerty keyboard and Buzzword can't even handle what I just type in ... while, par curiosité, I see that the forum apparently can ;-} Can't help remembering the day I had to put an azerty keyboard on the scanner halfway through a support call, because the support-team had apparently no idea anything other than 102-key US qwerty keyboards existed.
