RH8 HTML.

I'm wondering if there is a way to set a folder leve in a TOC to display information, even just a list of sub-topics in a main folder of a WEbHelp and air browser based help output.

e.g. if you look at the help file in RH8, you click a section of the TOC at the top level, i.e TOCs, indexes, glossaries. information is displayed that shows what topics are described within that folder in the help file.

I want to do something similar with my help file, though all top level folder, or sub-folder with sub-topics just shows nothing until I click on a specific topic.

hope thats clear, its difficult to explain.......but surely a simple solution.

thanks.

Hi Nick

I'm a little confused about exactly what you want to achieve here. I think part of the issue is that you are mixing the terms Folders and TOC levels.

Certainly when you auto-create a TOC RoboHelp looks at the folder structure that exists in your project and creates a matching Book for each folder it encounters.

Do you possibly mean to ask how you configure Books in your TOC so that when they are clicked by the user, not only do they expand to reveal what topic links are inside the book, but

Do you possibly mean to ask how you configure Books in your TOC so that when they are clicked by the user, not only do they expand to reveal what topic links are inside the book, but a topic displays on the right side that lists explanations and links of what is inside the Book? If that's what you want, you need to create a topic for each book. Make it read and appear as you wish, then use the "Book with link" feature of the TOC to associate the topics with the books.

Cheers... Rick
