junk characters displayed in HTML help output

Hello,
I'm using Robohelp 7 to convert files to Webhelp. The compilation goes thro fine nad the help is displayed alright on my computer. but, when the help is integrated with the product, junk characters are displayed in the first page of the output (something like jkk?, the ? is inverted)
Firefox is being used to view the help in the integrated application
The TOC is also not displayed. Can someone help

For the first one, look in Using RH7 on my site. Item 22.

For the second one, see the last item in Browsers. If that is the problem, neither Adobe nor myself have been able to replicate the problem with that add-on. Any clues you can give will help.
