After importing my Ppt-files into Captivate 4, the custom animations in the slide are much slower than my original Ppt-file.
Any remedies for getting the exact match between the Ppt format and the Captivate 4 format?

The speed of the movie depends on the number of frames per second. Can you check this setting in CP? You can find it in the Project Preferences, Publish settings. Perhaps this fps is different from the setting in the animations in PPT: you did not mention the kind of animations used in Powerpoint, nor your version of Captivate. This could help to give you a more exact answer.

-I am using version 4 of Captivate.
-I have checked the fps option and it worked for my animations. It goes far more smoother now.
One problem is that after importing Ppt in C4, an automatic animation (fade effect) is put on my slides, and this effect is also very slow, thus having increased the fps option. Any ideas for getting this effect away?

Could you post a screenshot of the timeline (using the small camera icon in the toolbar of the post-window)? Probably there is a fade-in effect on something, but I do not know which objects you have in the slides. Normally a ppt-slide with animation gets in as a FMR-object.

Fade effect on slides can be removed from the Slide properties dialog.
To achieve this, follow -
1. Select a slide
2. Double click on slide to open Slide Properties dialog
3. Click the Transition drop down
4. Select No Transition
If you want to change this setting for all the slides, follow -
5. Check the box Apply to All
6. Click the button Settings and select radio buttons
7. Click OK

I have followed the steps you are referring to, without any luck of getting the animation away. Maybe this is just is something that follows from the PPT import.

Hi there
Indeed when you import from PowerPoint you don't get what you would otherwise in Captivate. The animations are somehow hidden from the Captivate user. About all you can do is to adjust things in PowerPoint and check them in Captivate until you are happy with the way they work.
I encountered this very situation yesterday during facilitation of a Captivate class.
Cheers... Rick
