    Print Booklet With Slug Area?

    bpylant Community Member

Is there any way to use the Print Booklet feature to impose a multi-page document into printers' spreads, including the slug area? Or perhaps a different feature besides Print Booklet? (It would be nice if this function was included as an option in the Export PDF module...)

Apparently you can't use the defined slug area by checking the use slug option in the print setup, but have you tried setting manual bleeds larg enough to include the slug?

I have, thanks, that's how we ended up working around it for this job.

I find it very silly that the two features (Print Booklet and Export PDF) don't function in the same way; you can't impose into printers spreads when you export a PDF (a glaring omission IMO), and Print Booklet simply ignores one of the parameters of the document setup entirely! All of this should be unified in both the standard Print and Export PDF dialogs.

I also noticed that when setting up a document, the maximum bleed is 6". Which is fine, I was actually surprised you could go that high. However, in the Print Booklet dialog, if you uncheck 'Automatically Adjust to Fit Marks and Bleeds' to manually specify you are limited to 4". Why the discrepancy?

Things like this drive me crazy...
