1. Re: PPro CS4 to FLV with alpha
Harm Millaard Nov 2, 2009 8:26 AM (in response to Inger123)For the simple reason the program does not allow it. It was not engineered to do so. You can make a feature request and if past experiences serve me right and a sufficient number of people request it, it may be implemented in version CS12. So be patient.

That saves me a ton of waisting my time. CS12... I wonder what this program will be doing for us then? More so, doing to us!

Adolfo Rozenfeld Nov 2, 2009 10:19 AM (in response to Inger123)From the tests I just performed, Flash video with Alpha exports perfectly from Premiere Pro 4.1 through the Adobe Media Encoder. I picked an existing AME FLV preset, and only modified it to enable the Encode Alpha checkbox.
It just may be a matter of how (which application) are you importing the content into, and how you are checking transparency.
Here you can see a simple color key in PPro's program monitor and how it looks once it is imported into the Flash authoring application.

shooternz Nov 2, 2009 11:55 AM (in response to Inger123)I also have great success exporting the alpha channel in AME using Flash and have done it many times.
It may be the Matrox timeline causing your issues? Try another sequence (timeline setting) and nest in your Matrox sequence.

Inger123 Nov 2, 2009 3:14 PM (in response to Inger123)Thanks guys,
I will try it once again after my session. It may be the Matrox timeline, or even the MXF video clips i use. Seems like i have a lot of issues using them lately.
I will report back tomorrow.

Inger123 Nov 3, 2009 8:17 AM (in response to shooternz)Thanks guys,
It was the matrox timeline that is not able to export millions+. I did what you suggested and embed the matrox timeline in the adobe timeline, then export... and it works awesome!!
I think Matrox is aware of this issure, and working on it.
