Hi
I need to convert and split MS Word 97-2003 documents into HTML files. I managed to get RoboHelp 8 HTML to paginate at Heading1, but the generated HTML codes have style codes within the content text and use MS Word classes. This effectively hard codes some styles into the output HTML file. Applying CSS therefore has limited effect.
How do I use RoboHelp 8 HTML to generate style independent HTML files?

Hi,
Don't import Word documents, no really, don't
In the import wizard, in the second screen you can open the dialog to set the Word conversion settings. In the dialog, go to Other settings and check Auto-create CSS style from inline formatting. That will map most inline styling to CSS styles (which Robo creates for you). You can also map Word styles to existing styles in your style sheets. If you don't map them, Robo will create a style sheet for you.
One note: If you have unstructured word documents with lots of inline styling, it's probably garbage in and garbage out.
Greet,
Willam

To get rid of inline styling in Word, press CTRL A and then CTRL Spacebar.
