    Banned users

Well, it looks like the thread on moderation was locked?  Not sure why and I didn't see any comment related to locking it.

I believe that there might have been a typo on John Joslin's email address.  I believe it should read: [personal email addrressed removed]   Can the Admins please resend to that email address and see if it arrives without being bounced?

[Please dont put personal email addresses in a public forum.  PM them if necessary - Edited by Curt Wrigley]

Already noticed that. John had a completely different email address on his forum account. Email notification was resent.

          Thanks!

Wait, wait, wait a second, let me get this straight: Is John Joslin banned? Buko? Kath?

In my opinion, banning users, deleting messages, and locking threads, without letting people know why, serve no useful purpose.

As shown here by a blatant and well know example, a banned user can reappear as many times as s/he sees fit. Unfortunately, the useful contributors that get banned are tending to never come back, which is a shame and a great loss.

Deleted messages without even a simple "message deleted by XXX" notice create confusion with the time stamps and incoherences in the remaining thread, and don't help other users to see with examples the kind of behaviour that can lead to deletion.

And locked threads without an expression of cause are just irritant, not informative.

Well, I guess that's it, then. Time to leave, since the purge is on. But before I go:

Whoever banned John, did they ever watch him in the PS Win forum? He carried 80% of the burden over there. There must be many hundred, perhaps thousands, of happy Adobe customers thanks to John.

And I don't think I have ever, not once, caught Buko giving bad or misleading advice to users who were stuck in a jam. It may not always have been what people wanted to hear, but he was always right.

Kath I don't know so well, but in here she has always struck me as a level-headed and sensible person who only spoke when it felt important.

And while I'm at it: Ramón. To the superficial glance he seemed gruff and grumpy. But you had to be pretty blind not to realize in the next instant that this was a walking encyclopedia of all things Photoshop, and a man of the highest personal integrity.

People get banned so quickly here I may haved missed some.

To all of you: It's been a privilege. I've learned a lot from you.
