    Some new keystrokes in PSCS4

First of all many thanks to Ramon and Buko for their excellent advice recently which helped me no end, it is very much appreciated guys.

The problem I have now is not going to wreck my life, if I don't solve it but it would help me a great deal.

When sizing and re-sizing a brush I am still using the bracket key [ ] like in the older versions.  But I have recently seen a tutorial which showed using two key to either make the brush head larger or smaller. And, while it was performing the task the brush head turned red!  OK, I have tried a number combinations of Keystrokes I cannot get it to work. There are also a couple of things which I am still doing the old way, yet I see other people using the new methods.  My question please.  Is there somewhere that I can go to switch the new keystrokes (or whatever) on or off?

I was also told I could hit the command + Backstroke to fill with th foreground colour. Thius doesen't happen. Another was to hols down the magnifing glass and it will continuously grow.  I still have to click for eadc new magnidication.  Also I am told that if I hold down the alt ket and click on the photo a box will come up- that I can move around the photo and the section inside the box will magnify immediately, I can thef -with the hand yool - move the box to another area of the pic and with a simple keystroke go to full size!

I am sure there are more new features I am not taking advantage of, hence my question is there somewhere I can go to switch the facilities on or off?

          You are very welcome.

Could he have had the clone tool chosen? with the show overlay checked in the clone source panel. If so with show overlay checked it gives you a preview of the area where you sampled your clone to help with alining the brush. It could also be used to show the size of the brush changing.

He also could have made his own custom keystroke for changing the brush size.

              Right!

First my apologies for all those terrible typos in my first message.

The tutorial I was watching was a webinar on ReTouchPro.com and  was being delivered by Steve Caplin (How to Cheat in Photoshop).  When I saw the brush size changing size and that it also changed to red (so the the brush head was filled with red).  I asked the question specifically how are you doing that? At the time he was using dodge & burn. He then answered by saying something like, "in PSCS4 as well as the bracket keys, use can also use Alt + Cmnd (I think) it could have been Shift + Alt to change the brush size.

There is also the problem with all the other Key strokes he mentioned which do not work for me.

Go to Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts go through that and see if what you are looking for is there.

                  Thanks Buko

I Have been looking and playing around with that, but so far haven't anything can help.  I am now going to email Steve Caplin and ask him.

I'll keep you posted if I learn anything.

                  Thanks again

                    Just to update.

I have since discovered that many of my problems with the new CS4 is because of the graphics card in my 2005 G5.  It's not up to the job, apparently no GPU?

                    Thanks for the input

                    regards

                    Mark
