Does FrameMaker 9 support FrameTech component tagging?

We are considering an upgrade from Fame 7 to Frame 9, but do not want to lose the FrameTech component tagging which supports our single-sourcing efforts? 

Does Frame 9 support this functionality?

Pleading ignorance, but what exactly is "FrameTech component tagging'? Is this a third-party product. Are you using FM in strucutured or unstructed mode?

Frame Technologies is the original developer of FrameMaker (pre-Adobe purchase). They developed a Frame plug-in called FrameTech.

The tags allow you to "mark" different documentation maps for a variety of product lines. Using the tags we can generate similar information products for multiple product lines using a single-sourced document.

How does this tagging work? How do these tags appear in MIF? Are these different from Conditional tags?
