1. Re: Program Window/Master Video - color weirdness (CS 4.2)
JSS1138 Nov 14, 2009 7:31 PM (in response to sync2rhythm)There seems an unusual number of reports about weirdness happening after installing the 4.2 update. Things that once worked fine are now broken. The strangeness seems to vary from user to user, and without apparent rhyme or reason.
It's actually put me off updating. (There's nothing new I need, nor fixes for bugs I experience. So I'm taking the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach on the 4.2 update.)

2. Re: Program Window/Master Video - color weirdness (CS 4.2)
sync2rhythm Nov 17, 2009 10:06 AM (in response to sync2rhythm)Problem still persists!
If I was going to 'Roll Back' to a previous version using my installation media how can I select which updates to get or which version to stop at so as NOT to go to 4.2?
or
Would I just have to stay at the version that shipped with my install media?

4. Re: Program Window/Master Video - color weirdness (CS 4.2)
sync2rhythm Nov 18, 2009 11:03 AM (in response to tclark513)So, I can install via my Master Suite install discs then update the individual apps, right?
(leaving out the Premiere CS4.2 update)
The last time I tried installing individual apps... they wouldn't work as a Suite.
Maybe once installed as a Suite... they good to be updated individually?

sync2rhythm Nov 23, 2009 10:17 AM (in response to sync2rhythm)As I continue to converse with myself in this thread... Adobe Updater just updated this workstation to Premiere CS 4.2, and guess what... It has the SAME PROBLEM!
I find it hard to believe that I am the only one experiencing this problem... on 2 seperate machines!
Desktop = Dell T3500, XP64, nVidia GeForce GT220, E5520 @ 2.27GHz, 6GB RAM
Laptop = Dell E1705, W7 Ultimate x86, ATI Radeon X1400, T7200 @ 2GHz, 2GB RAM
Someone?... Anyone?...

portfairy Nov 23, 2009 6:19 PM (in response to sync2rhythm)Hi sync2rhythm,
I'm experiencing the same colour weirdness problem (and my PC is an IBM)! It's so annoying. It's only happened in the last few days so I suspect that teh software has downloaded an update and now it's become like this.... have you had nay luck trying to solve it?
I have absolutely no idea how to get rid of it and it's so frustrating trying to add effects with the colour playing up.
Thanks!

dradeke Nov 24, 2009 4:26 AM (in response to sync2rhythm)Here are some suggestions to try:
- import a project into a new one
- import affected media into a new project
- update your graphics card drivers if possible
- trash your preferences - http://blogs.adobe.com/genesisproject/2009/11/having_weird_behavior_with_an.html#comments
Hope this helps,
Dennis

9. Re: Program Window/Master Video - color weirdness (CS 4.2)
sync2rhythm Apr 29, 2010 11:00 AM (in response to dradeke)Well, I had to Roll Back a few version for my Video Driver to find a driver that worked.
Now, after updating to the latest Video Driver... all still seems well.
Thank You all for your help!
