NathanStryker Nov 17, 2009 9:55 PM (in response to Jen deHaan)No, its in the same directory that it was before....
I am not sure exactly where the problem is, but I am fairly sure that it has something to do with the flash player installed on my computer + the flash player installed by CS4....
The SWF file runs properly when I host it on a site, but locally there is some type of conflict that causes all kinds of problems...
If it helps:
Windows 7 ultimate 64
Flash CS4
Flash Player 10.0.32.18
If there is more info I can provide that can help you identify the problem please let me know, its rather frustrating.
Cheers
EDIT: For the record I have tried uninstalling the "player" and reinstalling but as of right now I continue to have problems.

kglad Nov 17, 2009 10:01 PM (in response to NathanStryker)if you open the local html file created by cs4 in your web browser, does your swf work correctly? if not, does opening that same html file on your server do what you expect?

4. Re: Flash Movie Works in Preview (Ctrl+enter) but not in Published
NathanStryker Nov 17, 2009 10:17 PM (in response to kglad)Fast response thank you.
The problem persists when I launch the file from anywhere on my computer (HTML file or SWF File) but the problem goes away when I run the same files from a server (Again HTML or SWF).
Very weird problem.

moccamaximum Nov 18, 2009 6:07 AM (in response to NathanStryker)If you use a external preloader be sure that you always use relative paths in your code.
Try to get rid of all absolut stuff (like level=, root etc.).

NathanStryker Nov 18, 2009 7:21 AM (in response to moccamaximum)Hey-
Thanks for the thoughts, but the pathing is correct for the various elements. I really think it has something to do with the installed "player" (although I am starting to find other problems with some other Adobe programs installed on my system.... Maybe there are some windows 7 compatability problems that haven't been worked out yet...

7. Re: Flash Movie Works in Preview (Ctrl+enter) but not in Published
kglad Nov 18, 2009 7:35 AM (in response to NathanStryker)the same player is used whether you open a local html file locally or online (as long as the browser is the same). so, it's not the player.
can you duplicate the problem with a few lines of code? if so, attach a zipped fla showing the problem, to this forum.

embersyc Nov 19, 2009 4:25 PM (in response to kglad)Having the exact same problem, also using 64bit Windows 7.
Movie works fine when testing from flash with ctrl-enter, or when exported as an .exe file, but gives weird problems and errors when I doubleclick and run the swf directly on windows 7. If I copy the swf to an XP machine it runs fine.
