1. Re: LOM is blank
Sheila Carlisle Nov 19, 2009 9:14 AM (in response to farrelldoc)FM files can be attached to messages if they're saved in a zip format.
Also, always post the exact version of FM you're using, including the "pxxx" numbers as shown in Help > About.
What I do is:
-- with the book file name highlighted in the book window
-- Add > List of, select LOM, select Comments as the source
The generated LOM file should be automatically added to the book and generated, and open in the document window already containing the data from the Comment markers
-- Save the FM book by highlighting the book file name, hold Shift down, select File > Save All Files in Book
Is that the same as you are doing?

2. Re: LOM is blank
farrelldoc Nov 19, 2009 9:29 AM (in response to Sheila Carlisle)Thank you--I didn't realize I could post in a zip file. :-)
Yes, those are the same steps, and the book shows up as a generated file (the darker color, like the TOC).
I'm using Frame 9.0p250
I tried again to attach the file, but even with the zip file, it said it was too big. Strange, because it is an empty file.
Thanks so much for your help,
Karen

3. Re: LOM is blank
Sheila Carlisle Nov 19, 2009 9:41 AM (in response to farrelldoc)as an experiment I'd suggest making a brand new test.fm file, add a couple of comments, save it, add the file to a new book, add a new LOM to the book, and see what happens.
I'm suspecting that there might be something wrong with the comments -- how were the Comments inserted in the FM file? Was this an original, created-in-FM9 file, or was it created in an earlier version?
Where are the comment markers inserted in the file, are they just in regular paragraphs, are they in tables, in a separate text flow, or ...?

Arnis Gubins Nov 19, 2009 9:46 AM (in response to farrelldoc)Karen,
Are the "comments" in markers or are they tagged with the Comment condition?

6. Re: LOM is blank
Art Campbell Nov 19, 2009 12:18 PM (in response to farrelldoc)Karen,
That would mean that they are plain text tagged with the Comment conditional text tag.
They are not markers, which is the reason they're not showing up in a list of markers.
To insert a Comment marker, go to Special > Marker and then Comment in the Marker pod....

Arnis Gubins Nov 19, 2009 12:37 PM (in response to Art Campbell)Also remember that marker content is limited to 255 characters.
