Image Transparency Problem - Captivate 3

I am trying to use a rollover image with a tranparent background to highlight part of a larger image.  When I import the smaller image (with the tranparent background) it looks fine in captivate.  However, when I "preview in web browser" or package, the image appears with a white background.  I have tried the image as a png and as a gif, both created in fireworks.  I am using Captivate 3.  Thanks for any advise you can give.

Hi there,

I have read that Internet Explorer 6 and below does not support .png transparency--might that be the problem?

Thanks for the idea Noellet.  I have tried the published file in Firefox and IE8 and have the same issue.
