RH HTML 8.0.2.208

We are converting from HTML Help to WebHelp.  We are going to be merging the projects (thank you Mr. Grainge for your articles - very helpful!).

Current external URLs in topics are: projectname.chm::/topicname.htm

I assume that the external URLs will now have to be referenced as: X:/helpfolder/startpage.htm#mergedprojects/child_project/target_topic_1.htm

Am I correct in that assumption?

Thanks in advance.

Both are correct.

X:/helpfolder/startpage.htm#mergedprojects/child_project/target_topic_1.htm will open the topic with the nav pane and toolbar.

X:/helpfolder/mergedprojects/child_project/target_topic_1.htm will open the topic without the nav pane and toolbar.

Also both of those will only work if everyone has the same drive mapping. Can you guarantee that? Might be better to use the server name.

Note that RH creates the path as mergedProjects (capital P) and that will be important if you server is U

Not quite. Try X:/helpfolder/mergedprojects/child_project/target_topic_1.htm assuming the merged projects are in the X:/helpfolder/ folder.
