1. Re: Problem with "saving as" in CS2
D Fosse-QDEaQ1 Dec 7, 2009 5:36 AM (in response to Michelmnr)Does the filename have an extension in the Save As dialog? It should. If it doesn't it should get one when you pick the file type. If not, you could of course type it in along with the file name.
I'm not sure if OS-level settings will have any impact here, but make sure extensions are visible in Windows (found under Tools > Folders > Show or something similar).
If none of this works, I'd look at resetting the Photoshop preference file (found in the FAQ).

2. Re: Problem with "saving as" in CS2
Michelmnr Dec 8, 2009 3:33 AM (in response to D Fosse-QDEaQ1)Yes the file in the folder is most often a jpg, and when in Photoshop i use the save as which give me the usual window with one field to name my file and another below that has the format with the drop down list to chose another format if necessary.
Like I said sometime after several attempts it rights itself! I might look for an option to reset defaults just in case I touch something that I forgot.
Thanks for your thoughts anyway.

The preferences can also be deleted manually. The procedure is described in the FAQ.

4. Re: Problem with "saving as" in CS2
Michelmnr Mar 6, 2010 6:50 AM (in response to D Fosse-QDEaQ1)I just done this and try another time.
I open a file jpg, and when I duplicate it
Do some work on it and save it with no difference. But when I duplicate it it already takes the extension away! So it did not make any dif.!
