Custom Shapes Issue in PhotoShop 7.1

    dcacrobat Community Member

I am a novice engaged in a logo tutorial project. It involves a globe and the importation of the continents.  The continents have been imported to the custom shapes folder in photoshop.  The tutorial goes on to require that the

"Draw Continents.  Now its time to use that shape set you downloaded. Load it into your custom shapes and use to draw across the globe."

I am not seeing how to access this graphic from the custom shapes folder and place it over the globe. Additionally, I am not clear on the use of the word 'draw' in this context.  Does this suggest the need for a 'pen' tool.  I have gone through the toolbar on top and have not been able to connect with the custom shape.  Images attached.  Guidance sought.

The custom shapes appear in your drop-down in the Options Bar for the tool.

This is in CS3 but yours should be similar.

If they are not there go to the tiny triangle top-right and load them from the menu there.

You select one and draw it out using the mouse

Scale and move it by pressing Ctrl+T.

I think the term "draw" is in the context to select a grip

(the little squares at the top right, top center, left center, etc.)

with the path selection tool or transform tool

(which is activated by selecting the move tool and pressing ctrl+t),

and dragging it to the size and proportions you want,

and then to continue to do that with the rest of the custom shapes you have uploaded.
