1. Re: Merging down a layer with FX, changed it's color - how come?
c.pfaffenbichler Dec 13, 2009 4:09 AM (in response to Shlomit Heymann)The Layer Effects most probably utilize Blend Modes other than Normal and the merged-down Layer can only have one Blend Mode.

3. Re: Merging down a layer with FX, changed it's color - how come?
c.pfaffenbichler Dec 13, 2009 10:46 PM (in response to Shlomit Heymann)Are You aware what a Layer’s Blend Mode is?
The Blend Mode determines how a Layer’s pixel’s color-values interact with the underlying pixel’s color values to produce the resulting pixel’s color values.
Naturally one Layer can only have one Blend Mode.
what is the point if i'm unable to flattem image later?
The point would appear to be that one is able to produce an aesthetically satisfying image in Photoshop, which can at least be output without transparency. Why do You want to flatten those parts anyway? -

Gyno-jiz Dec 13, 2009 11:01 PM (in response to Shlomit Heymann)You can always flatten the image, and have it appear the same as the layered file. Always.
