My computer recently died. The backup files of ebooks were transferred to another PC but for some reason, although my PC was activated, the ebooks are not. Any ideas on what I can do?

Two choices:
1.) Ask the place where you bought the books for redownloads.
2.) Go thorugh Adobe support http://www.adobe.com/support/digitaleditions (click on "Submit a web case").
