I recently took posession of a new iMac, and moved my accounts and application over to it from my old G5 (using Apple's Migration Assistant) For the time being, I am making due running CS1 (yeah, yeah...I know.) in Rosetta. It's not too glitchy, except for one oddity. All the bitmap files for what looks to be the entire MiniPics font family is showing up in all of my CS apps' font menus. However, NO MiniPics fonts are activated in FontBook. In fact, I cannot find the files for these fonts anywhere on my iMac.
I have tried deleting every AdobeFnt* file I can find (and there are many, scattered all over the place) but that hasn't made these ghosts go away.
Now, if they were organized in my font menu as a single family with the variations in a drop-down, I could live with it, but every variation is displayed as a unique font, so I have about 20-25 variations on MiniPics displayed on my font menu in Illustrator. These fonts are showing up in the other CS apps' font menus, too. This is seen in the other user accounts on the iMac.
So, if these fonts are not activated in FontBook (and, in fact, are not even installed anywhere I can find on the iMac) why are they showing up in my CS apps? Where should I be digging to weed these ghosts out? I've deleted every cache and Adobe font db file I could find, yet the MiniPics remain. It's just...weird.
Thanks,
Jim
