1. Re: Wavy Effect on Verticals
Mark Mapes Feb 1, 2010 11:46 AM (in response to GESYMSB)Can you define what you mean by "wavy"?
If it's that the edges are jagged, or "aliased," then that's most likely a result of the Visible Lines setting (third panel of the Field Monitor menu), which defaults to Odd or Even. The tradeoff is that Odd/Even eliminates the interlacing artifacts that result from viewing interlaced video on a progressive computer display, but it introduces aliasing artifacts. If you switch to All, then you'll see interlacing but edges will be smooth.

2. Re: Wavy Effect on Verticals
GESYMSB Feb 1, 2010 2:05 PM (in response to Mark Mapes)Here is a picture I did with Photoshop
simulating the effect.
ANYTHING Vertical will have those "moving" waves on the borders.
( Those waves will move up or down with the video, they are not fix on the spot )
However I do not think Onlocation will do what I was looking for...
Changing the brightness of the video coming into the pc.
Sometimes the video lets say is just a little bit too dark.I was hoping I could control this in the capture program
but the only thing I managed to do is to change
the brightness of the Onlocation-Monitor, not
the capture video........-
