1. Re: Blu-ray Error: "not enough free storage", Code: "25", Note: "Not enough space on media
h2ofun Dec 12, 2009 9:52 AM (in response to h2ofun)So, I removed all 6 of my slideshows, and the image built with no error. Have just added on back, with the 99 pictures, and will see if it will build.
Seems like this might be a bug since it worked fine as a DVD.

h2ofun Dec 12, 2009 2:44 PM (in response to h2ofun)Okay, I put in the first slideshow with 99 pictures, and it works fine.
I then put in my second slideshow with another 99 pictures, and it fails. Seems like there is a bug with slideshows with BR, since all 6 of my slideshows worked just fine in the DVD image.
Any ideas?

3. Re: Blu-ray Error: "not enough free storage", Code: "25", Note: "Not enough space on media
h2ofun Feb 6, 2010 7:10 PM (in response to h2ofun)This clearly is a bug. I made another project in PP. Used bridge to export to encore. I have 8 slideshows, with 360 pictures. The DVD version works just fine. But when I go to make the BR version, I again get the same error I hafve on another project. I am using a 50gb media size. The encoding dies at the very end with 32.67 of 32.67, so not even close to filling up the media. No one else has ever hit this bug, yet?

4. Re: Blu-ray Error: "not enough free storage", Code: "25", Note: "Not enough space on media
h2ofun Feb 9, 2010 7:43 AM (in response to h2ofun)There has to be a bug, which looks like I have hit multiple times. I messed around with how many slideshows and pictures in these for this lastest failing BR project. If I do 5 slideshows for BR, it worked fine. If I did 6 with one picture in the 6th, it worked.
But if I put 30 pictures in the 6th, it fails saying not enough space, when there is lots left. So, not sure if it is the total number of pictures, or Slideshows and pictures, but clearly, the BR process has a bug. Never had a failure trying to make a DVD. Not sure what to do now.

5. Re: Blu-ray Error: "not enough free storage", Code: "25", Note: "Not enough space on media
vkoulich Jun 5, 2010 6:43 PM (in response to h2ofun)I encountered exactly the same error trying to produce a standard BR (BDMV) image (ISO).
Building the BDMV on disk (folder) is Ok and plays without any problem (eventually...).
Whenever I try to build an image instead, however, Encore CS5 fails at the final stage reporting exactly the same error.
I've tried building the same image on two different drives, one with 200GB free space, and another one with 2TB free space... No difference whatsoever.
Clearly a bug! I've reported it too, even though this bug was already reported in 2009.
Adobe has apparently just ignored the bug reports and simply moved the bug to the brand new CS5 as well...
Good work Adobe!

drewhardwick Jun 23, 2010 1:24 AM (in response to h2ofun)Hey All!
Code 25, not enough free space.. Even though you just re-encoded and the files are smaller than 23.68Gb.. Delete all files in the "AuthorScriptHDMVSessions" folder for the current project. It gets the same effect as the guy who started a new project, but without having to redo anything.

Jutrzenka Jul 15, 2010 10:03 AM (in response to drewhardwick)Hi,
I experience the same issue with insufficient space on media. My asset video MPEG2 1440x1080, 35.8GB with main and submenu at Transcode settings 40Mbps generate disc usage of 44.92GB and 5.08GB free space for BD-R DL 50GB media. Encoe CS5 fails to build disc image with error code 25 ! Furthermore, I reduced the Transcode bit rate to 20Mbps and freed ~20GB space on media, but still the same issue persists ! That's weird ! What is the use of such application is you unable to burn Blue-ray discs ? Definitely there is a HUGE BUG in it, unless somone knows the work around ? By the way...removal of files from AuthorScriptHDMVsessions folder does not resolve the issue, I tried it and failed ! I'll appreciate any usefull hint on the issue.

Jutrzenka Jul 15, 2010 3:06 PM (in response to John T Smith)Hi John,
Thanks for the advise, but it is not the case, I already experienced the too long file name issue (over 30 characters) and corrected it, but then the insufficient space on media problem hit me and I do not know how to deal with it, I tried everything I could think of, 3 times started the project with the same assets, but every time failed to build the disc image ! Out of curiosity... I have the same problem at Roxio DVDit Pro HD. There must be some weird common issue with building/burning BD-R DL...what is it I wish to know. I hope that the application developers will find the answer promptly. We must push them hard to work on that.

11. Re: Blu-ray Error: "not enough free storage", Code: "25", Note: "Not enough space on media
N-C-M-T Jul 16, 2010 4:51 AM (in response to h2ofun)MAYBE SIMILAR PROBLEM ?
I might suffer from another consequence of (this) bug - I have experienced a very strange situation in EnNCORE CS5 - preparing three individual episodes as three individual Blu-ray images (around 8GB each) - combining these into a single Blu-ray (50GB) media - the resulting image turns out to be around 33GB - 35% larger than the sum of the three individual episode disks - please refer to the table below:
Episode Transcoded(KB) Estim.(GB) Result(KB)
1 7.850.387 9,16 8.240.064
2 7.776.599 9,08 8.163.648
3 7.808.916 9,23 8.300.928
Artihmetic sum 23.435.902 27,47 24.704.640
ENCORE 23.435.902 27,40 33.305.300
What are these eight million KB used for ??? 8.600.660All four disks were produced as IMAGES - source files transcoded by the H.264 Blu-ray preset in the Media Encoder - and all four Blu-rays without any menu-structure - plain "firstplay" setup. It seems to me that ENCORE adds up some huge amount of "garbage" - however the 33GB image did play OK.

N-C-M-T Jul 16, 2010 6:38 AM (in response to h2ofun)Additional information to "similar problem":
Running the exact same project of the three combined files through the CS4 version of ECOREgives a quite different size:
CS5 result: BD size 33.305.300 KB
CS4 result: BD size 25.006.464 KB
Definitely - there is a BUG !!

N-C-M-T Jul 16, 2010 9:04 AM (in response to John T Smith)Hi John
- yes - however I have prepared quite a number of BluRay's - and never had
an overhead of 35%. Furthermore I can tell you, that exactly the same
project put through ENCORE CS4 gives me a disc volume of the (expected) 25GB
- not CS5'versions 33GB -so there definitely is a major BUG in the new
version.
But thanks for your reaction

Jutrzenka Jul 16, 2010 10:27 AM (in response to John T Smith)Thanks to both of you fellows John and Niels for sharing your info regarding Encoe CS5 error Code 25. I have already reported the BUG to Adobe and would like to encourage ALL USERS experiencing the same problem to report it to Adobe since there is no a good work aroud solution found yet. Everyone ! please report the bug at: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform&promoid=EWQQL
I believe that only a volume of a massive reports will force Adobe to resolve the issue in a timely manner. This is ridiculous that a professional standard application was released with a BUG disabling Blue-ray disc creation !

N-C-M-T Jul 16, 2010 2:42 PM (in response to Stan Jones)Hi Stan
- no I didn't get any error message - as the size (33GB) was inside the 50GB
media limit (however I first intended to aim for 25GB size)
- so the build went OK - and the resulting image was playable OK - just
showing this "oversize" of 8 GB.
- I complete agree this is a serious bug (which I also has reported directly
to ADOBE through the BUG report form) - as it prevents you from utilisation
of the full media-size available - and as I have reported - using the old
CS4 version for excatliy the same project - everything works completely OK
with a resulting size of the expected 25GB
- Best regards Niels

Re: Bluray Error Code 25 Not Enough Hard Disc Space
by Preet Singh on Aug 11, 2010 at 6:26:49 am
Hey guys...I just figured out how to overcome the error.Once you have imported file into timeline.
go to
File>Edit Quality presetsIt will take you to the quality preset window.
choose any format you like..MPEG Blu ray or H.264 etc.
Then scroll down to bitrate settings.
I always use CBR, but you can use VBR, 1 Pass or VBR, 2 Pass.
once you select the bitrate encoding.
Adjust the minimum, for VBR > target and maximum bitrate setting.
For CBR, the default is set at 30mbps...bring that down.
It seems that encore uses very high setting for transcoding.
For example: if you have a mpeg blu ray file which is 12gig...once you import it in encore and add to time line. it will show the total size for the project is 26gig....this is because of the Quality presets.
Conclusion: import files to encore and them adjust the quality preset and you will be able to adjust the size of your project.Take care.
Please help me get a fix for this!

DaveM888 Sep 3, 2010 4:14 AM (in response to h2ofun)I think I know the problem, and I have a proposed workaround. Sorry for posting into a different thread.
But check out this one http://forums.adobe.com/message/3106312#3106312
Hopefully someone can see if the splitting the files into separate timelines may help by this evening. My nuclear option is running today (wmv file) so that I can at least present the movie tommorrow.
