2. Re: CS4 Audio Sync Issues After Render in Media Encoder
Bill Hunt Feb 17, 2010 3:38 PM (in response to getupcurt)Many users have had OOS issues with H.264 Export (not "Rendering"), and some have found that using either the Lead, or MainConcept H.264, in lieu of Apple's, did a much better job. Which version of H.264 do you have installed?
Good luck,
Hunt

getupcurt Feb 18, 2010 7:07 AM (in response to Bill Hunt)Ahh...perhaps I'm not getting as many responses because i'm being blacklisted for not using correct terminology, haha (and I'm probably throwing people off)
I'm simply using Media Encoder CS4 for the exports, and selecting Quicktime > NTSC DV
When I export for Youtube, I use H.264 > Youtube Widescreen HD (MainConcept H.264 Video)

4. Re: CS4 Audio Sync Issues After Render in Media Encoder
Bill Hunt Feb 18, 2010 7:18 AM (in response to getupcurt)No, there is no blacklisting here. Now, some might be a tad confused by "Render" in the title, but I'd expect them to read, and understand. I just pointed that out, to avoid confusion down the thread. I expected to read of a Render messing up the sync, but it became very clear exactly where your issue was occurring.
I wish that I had more to add, than a question on the H.264 CODEC, but have not encountered this myself. I'm only relying on what seems to have worked for others, and might not have any bearing on your issue.
Good luck,
Hunt

Harm Millaard Feb 18, 2010 7:19 AM (in response to getupcurt)If you simply refrain from using QuiRckTime you are much better off. They have that name for a reason, you know...

6. Re: CS4 Audio Sync Issues After Render in Media Encoder
getupcurt Feb 18, 2010 9:07 AM (in response to Harm Millaard)Ha, so sadly, the issue was Quicktime. I did a test export as an HDTV 720P WMV, and it was glitch-free. It's unfortunate, I like to use Quicktime as a quick, easy way to view & test the videos I create on my own PC....but if it's going to continue to have those quirks, forget about it.

7. Re: CS4 Audio Sync Issues After Render in Media Encoder
Bill Hunt Feb 18, 2010 9:21 AM (in response to getupcurt)Yes, there can certainly be issues with QT (as Harm points out). It seems that Apple just cannot get that software right for a PC. They'll get a few versions OK, and then things go wonky for several more. That is why I'm still on 7.5.5 - it works with Adobe products.
Good luck,
Hunt

8. Re: CS4 Audio Sync Issues After Render in Media Encoder
Harm Millaard Feb 18, 2010 9:23 AM (in response to getupcurt)For years Apple has been able to mess up QT on the PC side, requiring people to leave it off alltogether or try with a previous version or the one before that. Apple never got their act together, so if you can do without, don't even install it.
