Hi all,
In my most recent thread I was advised about naming of output files in a merged project and how they should not contain underscores or non alphanumeric characters. Please can people advise whether this should extend to any or all of the following:
Thanks.
Spaces in theory are OK but it is better to avoid them.

It always helps with questions like this to append to the same thread or reference it.
The use of underscores was specific to avoiding them in CHMs where merged help is involved.

So a topic filename could use say, adding_events.htm but the chm should be addingevents.chm for example.
And equally underscores could be used in the xpj filename? i.e .smart_tool_help.xpj.
On a personal note I'm already against using anything other than lowercase in a filename anyway..
As I'm making recommendations here to prevent future problems I need to be sure...

You only have to avoid underscores in the CHM name.
It is best to avoid spaces in filenames but not mandatory. Underscores are OK in topic filenames and the XPJ. In a new project the CHM default to the same as the XPJ but you can change it in the wizard.
