No Setup Assistant

I've downloaded and installed Adobe Digital Editions 1.7.2 for Intel Macintosh.  When I launch ADE all I get is black screen, and the only item on the menu bar is "Adobe Digital Editions".

Where is the Setup Assistant so I can get this thing going?  Why isn't it launching?

I'm running OS X 10.5.8 on a Mac Pro 2 x Dual-Core Intel Xeon.

Can anybody give me a hand here?
