I have been wanting to record a webinar using Captivate several times.

When i replay the recording, i see that the audio has not got recorded at all..Video plays just fine... Can someone please help explain the possible issue why this could be happening?

Is there anything that I am missing out on the settings?

Hi,

If i understand you correctly, you wish to record audio which is playing in your browser? In this case, while recording with Captivate you need to select correct audio recording device. Generally the device is 'Stereo Mix'. For Captivate to list this audio device your system audio driver should support this functionality.

Mukul

I downloaded a Stereo Max driver, and i checked if it appears in the Audio settings that you mentioned,

I tested it too by running a webinar...It works perfectly fine now...

Thanks a ton for your help!

I just googled for Stereo Mix for XP ..and i downloaded from the link below:

http://ftp.us.dell.com/audio/R171789.exe

I ran this file, and then saw that in the Audio settings, in the Recording options, this was now available.

Then, while recording the webinar, i used the normal mode, and without any headset connected...Just tested this..saved the test project..

When i played the slide, the audio was recorded perfectly...

Also, in the audio option , the Stereo Mix option should be kept checked,...

I believe there are variants depending on which laptop one has..This driver i downloaded was meant for Dell laptops i think...

I was reading through some discussion threads which said, there are different drivers specific to different laptops..

Nand6,

Q:  Were you the one presenting the webinar you were trying to record or was someone else?  I would like to record a presentation one of my co-workers is presenting so I would simply be an "attendee" at the webinar.
