1. Re: missing fonts Indesign CS3
Dov Isaacs Nov 5, 2009 9:04 AM (in response to IsleofGough)By PostScript fonts we assume you mean Type 1 fonts.
There was a problem in the CS3 as you describe. The problem is resolved with CS4.
The workaround is to copy the Type 1 fonts (both the .PFB and .PFM file for each font) into the InDesign or Creative Suite-specfic font directory. They will then be seen by the CS3 applications.

IsleofGough Nov 5, 2009 12:12 PM (in response to Dov Isaacs)That worked. I put the pfb and pfm files (Type 1 ps) in both the \program files\common\adobe\fonts and \program files\adobe\indesign\fonts directories.

cathy france Mar 5, 2010 3:27 AM (in response to IsleofGough)Hi,
Same problem, regarding Arial Narrow.Until yesterday I didnt have this problem.
I have tried to check with your solution but I ve surely miss a step.
C:\Program Files\Commun files\Adobe\Fonts
In there, there is a AMT file
And
C:\Program Files\Commun files\Adobe\Fonts
Nothing in there
But I do have it in:
C:\WINDOWS\Fonts
Sorry but at this stage I am lost.
Thanks a lot for your help.
PS: I am on windows xp, using the adobe creative suite CS 3, and it s regarding Indesign CS 3

P Spier Mar 5, 2010 4:13 AM (in response to cathy france)Known issue with Arial Narrow and updating Office or Vista. See http://indesignsecrets.com/hotfix-corrects-arial-narrow-problem-on-windows.php
If that doesn't do it, the only alternative is probably to find a system which still has the older versions and copy them.
