John Joslin Mar 4, 2010 11:39 PM (in response to TF22Raptor2)Dragging and dropping does work. Make sure you grab the layer by the thumbnail.

Paul Cracknell Mar 6, 2010 12:38 AM (in response to TF22Raptor2)Here's a helpful tip, holding down shift will centre the dragged layer in the new document. If both docs are the same size this will make the layer will copy in the exact space.

Jelmerholland Mar 6, 2010 6:26 AM (in response to TF22Raptor2)You can also right click on a layer, group or multiple layers. Then you clikc 'Duplicate Group/layer(s)', you select the .psd file where you want to duplicate to, go to the .psd file where you duplicated to, there you go, now you've copied the layer from one .psd to another .psd file

TF22Raptor2 Mar 14, 2010 6:49 PM (in response to Jelmerholland)Thanks guys all your suggestions have been helpful.
The way I was trying do it was dragging the layer by the thumbnail and dropping it into the consolidated/non floating file name shortcut menu button at the top of my PS.
I'm still prsuming there is no way to do that, without have to float one of the windows?

Jelmerholland Mar 14, 2010 11:29 PM (in response to TF22Raptor2)Cee the post above yours.
You don't have to float a screen. You don't have to drag&drop. Just duplicate the layers to the .psd you want to copy to. Why would you want to drag 'n drop?
