1. Re: Graphics Card with 3 outputs that works well with PE8
Bill Hunt Mar 7, 2010 2:33 PM (in response to NotEnoughHours)This might be something that you'll have to use Google for, or head to the Matrox, nVidia and the ATI, then AJA and BlackMagic sites, and do some research.
I do not know of anyone using 3 monitors with PrE. With PrPro, one can easily do a dual-monitor plus a FW through A-D to a third monitor. This is usually to a calibrated NTSC (or PAL) CRT for density and color grading.
Good luck,

nealeh Mar 7, 2010 2:48 PM (in response to NotEnoughHours)This might seem strange but check out FlightSim.Com and its forums. I'm content with a single monitor for my occasional virtual flights (Flight Simulator X), but real Flight Sim addicts often have three monitors for left/forward/right views - take a look: http://www.wideview.it/wideview.htm. They should be able to give you plenty of suggestions.

Bill Hunt Mar 7, 2010 2:53 PM (in response to nealeh)Neale,
Great idea. I was so glad when I added my second monitor for Photoshop, and could use it on MS Flight-sim 97. Even back then, a lot of folk were doing 3, and soon 4 monitors. I seem to recall someone's setup in Full Throttle magazine, where they had a chair with some sort of motion-control, a sub-woofer mounted below it, and a 5 monitor setup - three front and one on each side. Seems that the guy spent about US$50K and that was about 10 years ago. Maybe I still have that issue? Do not recall how the video was driven though.

NotEnoughHours Mar 7, 2010 4:26 PM (in response to Bill Hunt)Thanks guys. I should have problably clarified - I'm not so concerned about using all three monitors while using PE - even with the two monitors I have now, I generally only use one. What I'm more concerned about is purchasing a graphics card that has the least amount of problems with PE - it just so happens that I'm looking for one that has three outputs... does that make this question a little easier to answer?

nealeh Mar 8, 2010 3:06 AM (in response to NotEnoughHours)I'd be inclined to look at Nvidia cards. While recent driver problems caused big problems with PRE8, Adobe and Nvidia are in a partnership over certain technologies.
