Dreamweavers rendering of a web page is an approximation, this is why you must check pages in a browser, (preferably multiple browsers). Ever live view in cs4 only check the page in an old version of the Safari browser and is not an accurate rendering across all browsers.
All you can do is correct a problem, preview in browser(s), then correct the next problem, until all problems are corrected.

Also, if your code has any orphaned tags in it, you're likely to see problems in Design View that some browsers may not pick-up. Use the W3C code validation tools often during design phase and fix any reported errors.
