External Flv movies do not work

Hi everyone, I am trying to embed interactive swf and flv movies in pdf to be distributed via ACS4. Digital Editions allow me to view and interact with both swf and flv if they are embedded in the pdf. However, if the flv is distributed on a web server and I embed either the reference to it or an swf with an internal reference to it, it does not work. Has any of you had similar problems?
